Hull Stripping and RMC Production
Hull stripping involves removing the outer armor from shipwrecks using specialized beams in order to extract Recycled Material Composite (RMC). Processed by the ship’s onboard filling unit, this resource is packaged in SCU containers for resale or transferred into portable cartridges for use with repair tools. The efficiency of the process depends on selecting the appropriate stripping module—such as the Abrade for balanced performance, the Cinch for precision, or the Trawler for large surfaces—as well as maintaining an optimal distance and angle of attack to avoid material waste.

Hull scraping is the second step in the recovery process. This method involves removing the outer layer of armor from shipwrecks and debris using a recovery beam to convert it into reusable raw material.
Recycled Material Composite (RMC)
Stripping produces a material known as RMC (Recycled Material Composite)
- Onboard Processing: The material removed from the structure is transported to the vessel's onboard processing unit (filler station).
- Packaging: This station compacts RMC to directly produce SCU containers in the hold or to fill portable RMC cartridges (such as the Cambio-Lite SRT cartridge).
- Manual Refill: Empty cartridges purchased in stores can also be refilled directly with RMC at convenience kiosks.

Selection of Equipment and Modules
Scraping is performed using hand tools or specialized vessels (ranging from the single-pilot RSI Salvation to the crewed Aegis Reclaimer). To optimize extraction, operators have various scraper modules installed on the recovery heads:
- Abrade: Offers a good balance between cutting speed and precision without unnecessarily damaging the material.
- Cinch: Designed for a more precise and targeted extraction.
- Trawler: Designed for wide-area sweeping to cover large areas quickly.
Stripping Technique
Harvesting efficiency depends directly on the precision of the steering and the handling of the swaths:
- Angle of Attack: The beam must maintain an optimal angle relative to the hull's surface.
- Operating Distance: Staying within the beam's optimal range ensures maximum efficiency. Incorrect positioning results in a loss of valuable material.
- Thoroughness of the stripping process: Regular sweeping ensures that the entire layer is removed without leaving any untreated areas.
